Password Information: Last week, all passwords from last year were reset for our student accounts. At Back To School Night, all K-5 teachers gave information about the "new" password. Please read the following information about specific log in information:
Getting started on Schoology
As we prepare to begin the school year remotely, we encourage students to take a few minutes to familiarize themselves with Schoology, the online classroom platform we will use during remote learning. Click here for a short video tutorial on how to log in
Grading and attendance
The Five Star District has adopted temporary attendance and grading policies for remote learning. The goal of these policies is to provide consistency across the district and make sure that students receive the same amount of teacher-student contact and instruction that they would during a typical school year. Please click here to view the full grading policy, and click here to view the full attendance policy on the district website. Here is a brief overview of these policies:
Grading: The district will follow its standard grading practices and policies during remote learning. Teachers will explain to students and families how courses are graded, the grading scale and the timeline for when students will receive grades. Teachers will use appropriate discretion in deciding which specific measures are factored into grades.
Attendance: Students will be marked in attendance if they log into a live, virtual class meeting. For information about other interactions that can count as being present, please view the full attendance policy. Attendance will be taken daily at key intervals in the school day:
Elementary Level (K-5)
M, T, Th, F: Teachers will take daily attendance by the end of the regularly scheduled morning meeting.
Wednesday: Teachers must record attendance by the end of the regularly scheduled school day.
Secondary Level (6-12):
M, T, Th, F: Teachers will take and record attendance within the first 15 minutes of every class period.
Wednesdays: Teachers must record attendance by the end of the regularly scheduled school day.
