Dear Families,

Thank you for joining us for conferences...we really enjoyed our discussions and getting on the same page about your child.  We also appreciate the parents that joined us for Red Rocks! We will be working with the students to write their artist statements to compliment their triptychs.  We would love to have a couple of coupons or gift cards sent our way for photo development so we can display their work. We couldn’t have been more proud!

Next Tuesday, Oct. 18th we will be planting with Hulstrom our bulb garden. Please wear your garden shirt.  We want to thank in advance Lowe’s from Northglenn for helping us with with the proper tools, bulbs, and a stage. They will be installing a beautiful stage for us on Oct. 28th in the morning.

We are preparing for our Dia De Las Mariposa on Oct. 31st.  Ms. Geerdes and Ms. Schluter along with the 6th graders will be creating sugar skulls and paper picado’s with the students.

We are in need of:

-160 lbs of sugar

-puffy paint (small bottles)

-tissue paper

-canister of meringue

-4x4 sq. inch cardboard pieces (104)

-mixing bowls for the day

-wooden spoons for the day

In addition, we are a task force team that will be sending out information regarding our celebration of Dia De Las Mariposa on Monday, Oct. 31st from 1:15-2:45.  The students may change into their costume at this time.

If you can help with any of these items please email either of us so we can keep track of our needed supplies.  Thank you in advance again!

Science and Technology:

Our focus for next week will predominately be preparing for their PBL on: How can we increase the number of plants in our community to attract more pollinators?  The students are in teams, are creating Haiku Decks to inform the panelists which will be Thursday, Oct. 27th.  We are excited as we hear their solutions, watch their researching skills and develop as teams.
