Mr. Thompson's Class

Here is some basic info about remote learning for school year 2020-21 for Mr. Thompson's 8th grade math.

*Mr. Thompson's Office Hours - I will be available on Wednesdays from 8am to 10am and by appointment from 10am until 11am.  You are always welcome to email me anytime to ask a question and I will get back to you ASAP.

Email Mr. Thompson if you are having any tech issues in his class, or if you have any questions or concerns.

In order to maintain a positive learning environment, all middle school students are expected to follow these guidelines during remote learning:

  • Students should log on to classes using their real names

  • Follow teacher expectations/norms for participation (participating in the activities, responding to chats, etc.)

  • You need to be “school” appropriate when on your screen.  This includes your behavior, clothing, and visible backgrounds.  (No profanity, appropriate school clothing, etc.)

  • Follow school technology policy during synchronous classes (phones/devices hidden unless teacher permission, focus on class during synchronous lessons, etc.)

*Find all other information for online learning, including video meeting links, in my Schoology course.*

My preferred method of contact would be through email. If you need to contact me by phone, feel free to dial my school phone number and leave me a voicemail. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Khan Academy (If students woud like to have access to more math practice during online learning outside of what is required in the weekly materials, I encourage you to continue working through your course on Khan Academy.)

Big Ideas Online Textbook (Students will have a weekly assignment on Big Ideas. These will be graded as a "Pass/Fail" assessment, and in order to earn a passing score they will need to get at least a 60% on the assignment.)
