I am excited to be a part of the STEM family! This is my eighth year teaching in the district and I truly love what I do! It has always been my desire to work with children and to teach in a classroom setting. Growing up as the daughter of two teachers helped cultivate that desire and love of teaching. I have worked with children of all ages from infants to elementary school. I started out as a preschool teacher and then moved on to a school-age program in Boulder Valley. I worked as a substitute teacher in the district while earning my Masters in Elementary Education from Metropolitan State University in 2012. I have taught 5th grade for two years and 4th grade for five years. The most rewarding aspect of teaching is seeing students grow and succeed. There's nothing better than watching students' light bulbs turn on, seeing them engaged and excited to learn, or encouraging them to meet their personal goals! Teaching is my passion!
Although I was born in San Antonio, Texas, I consider Colorado to be my home since my family moved back to CO after I was bron. Outside of the classroom I love spending time with my husband and our twin daughters. I enjoy reading a good book, traveling, spending time in my favorite coffee shop coloring, and taking my dog Paxtyn for walks and hikes.
